CA Stands for Chartered Accountants, an accounting designation given by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal (ICAN) to the professionals who are the experts in the field of accounting, auditing, taxation, corporate finance and business laws. CA course consists of three levels CAP I, CAP II and CAP III with three years of internship under a practicing Chartered Accountant. The major subjects to be studied includes accounts and financial reporting, audit, taxation, commercial laws, costing and finance. The expertise of a CA in various fields with the strong theoretical command and practical training makes them competent from the very first day of their professional career. It develops an unbeatable presence of mind and a top class communication skill during the course of studies itself. A CA is given high level of respect in our society which is the most valuable part of the profession. CAs provide services in the various fields like independent professional practice, industrial job and are also seen as successful business entrepreneurs.
The following are eligible to register for CAP-I Level:
Completed a recognized educational institution’s higher secondary (10+2) program, certificate level, A level, or comparable test.
Graduates/Post Graduates who did not qualify to apply immediately for the CAP-II Course because they received less than a 50% in commerce and less than a 60% in faculties other than commerce (see CAP- II Level registration criteria).
The following are eligible to register for CAP-II Level:
CAP-I Level Examination passed, or
Acquire a graduate or postgraduate degree in commerce, business administration, or management with accounting, auditing, or taxation as a major and a minimum of 50% overall, or
Acquire a minimum cumulative GPA of 60% and be a graduate or post-graduate in a field other than those mentioned above.
The following are eligible to register for CAP-III Level:
Passed the CAP-II Level Exams for both categories.
By registering an Articleship Deed, you’re officially registered as an article trainee working under a licensed Chartered Accountant. The Articleship Deed must, however, be filed to ICAN within a month of the date of signing it, as must be mentioned.
